I have had a problem with the LCD screen now twice going out, no Caller ID or ability to set, no words to look at screen, (but is lighting up)…so definitely an electronic problem. Support doesn’t speak understandable English, got me wrong part and wont reimburse, and now replacement doesn’t work either. Awfully expensive phone for the quality-DONT BUY!!!!

First, I bought this phone refurbished for about $70; I can’t tell the difference, and I saved hundreds. That being said, the phone itself meets expectations for call clarity, features and design. Some of the offerings seem trivial, but will be of value for different users. For example, you’ll see in other reviews that it can be a “pain” that the address entries must be copied from handset to handset (a very easy transfer you can do from your couch and one handset). If you have a couple of teenagers who don’t care about YOUR contacts, and vice versa, its more of a convenience. The fact that I can turn off the ringer and have the antenna light up different colors based on who is calling seemed silly to me, but I suppose if I was sitting with a sleeping newborn I might appreciate not having to get up to see who was calling, and not having the loud ring.
Ringer choices are limited to three, two of them sounding like a sound effect from Land of the Lost. Speakerphone clarity, both on the base and the handsets is excellent. Caller ID can be “trained” to know whether to include a “1″, or the area code, or both, or, to omit all but the local numbers. Once you do it for a specific area code, all incoming calls are automatically amended to that format, so you can easily redial from missed calls. Another nice feature is that the “redial” captures more than the last number. You can erase any history of incoming or outgoing calls, either individually or in aggregate.
If you’re not somewhat technically oriented, the instructions to do all this may take a little effort, but I don’t see how a reasonable person couldn’t get through the instructions and customize the phone(s) to their liking.
Overall, excellent phone. Can’t say as it would be worth $400, but if you can get it cheaper, need (want) three handsets, you will be happy

Customer Review: Not a good buy for your buck
We bought this set 2 1/2 years ago. Within the first year (warranty period), the on button stopped working on one phone, so we sent it in to get it fixed. Within the next year, either the on or off buttons stopped working on all 3 phones, rendering them useless. Other than that, they were great phones - easy to use and convenient. The small size didn’t bother us, and we never had problems with clarity inside the house, although we couldn’t take them outside to use. However, whether these are just bad phones or we happened to get 3 lemons, I can’t tell you, but I wouldn’t buy them again.
Customer Review: This phone system is only “OK”
I researched this product for some time before buying it, and the reviews on various sites convinced me to buy it. Some incorrect claims about this product:
The phone supports up to four handsets, not 10
The reception is choppy sometimes, even next to the base - I haven’t found a pattern
The handsets do not all share data - when you enter it into one, it is not accessible from the others, as some reviews had claimed.
One other thing is that the phones are a little *too* small in my opinion, and take getting used to before they are comfortable.
Overall I’m disappointed with the performance of this phone system and I would not buy it again; however, it meets the current demands for my household, so I’ll continue using it until it dies.

Then there’s call waiting, a beep letting us know there’s another call coming in. But until now, you wouldn’t know who was beeping in unless you answered it. With Call Waiting Caller ID you get the best of both worlds. Now when you get a beep, you can see who’s calling before you answer.
Customer Review: Disappointed
This telephone was listed under “Speakerphone Telephones” so I purchased it and paid $11.00 shipping charges, while the refurbished phone cost only $17.00.
When I received it, it was not a speakerphone at all. The review on the website said very little about the phone, and did not mention that it did not have the speakerphone capability.
When I emailed the selling party about returning, he apologized about the misunderstanding, and said that sometimes things get mis-categorized. I asked about the return policy and he said it would be a 25% restocking fee, and full shipping charge.
Needless to say I will not be returning the phone. I will look elsewhere for a Panosonic Speakerphone, and will end up selling this on CraigsList or at a Yard Sale, at a significant loss.
This is the second time in a row I have been dissatisfied with my purchase from Amazon, and will not be shopping on the site in the future.

I bought this Feb. 15th 2008. About April 15th the base station started making LOUD clicking sounds at every incoming and outgoing call. Panasonic CS was no help. Today June 2 one of the handsets suddenly died. No display, won’t indicate charging, nada. The 2nd never used, always in the charger in the other room, handset is still working. For now. I need a new phone, but it will NOT be Panasonic.

This phone with answering machine was given to my mother and she loves it. With having two phones it allows her to have a phone in her bedroom and in the living room. The reception is superb and she has no complaints about the phone and the answering machine. It’s very user friendly and would recommend this phone to anyone.

Customer Review: Extremely handy
These phones are pretty good, have all the features you need, such as speaker and mute. A number of people I call frequently have noticed better voice quality, so all that is “good enough.” The reception on the handsets that are not plugged in to the wall are indistinguishable from the base unit, so that’s cool too. There are no gross design flaws I have come across, so common in phones, like they were designed by engineers who have never use the features. The only thing I would like is a speed-dial, but it seems to only have a phone book. Maybe the feature is there. I also called Panasonic support, and believe it or not, I got a representative in about 1 minute. I got cut-off from the call, and she called me back! Amazing!
The really great part is having all those handsets. I used to hit the find button 10 times a day, but now I keep a handset at my desk, and one five feet away in its cradle. For some inexplicable reason, I have not had to look for a handset even once in the week that I have owned it. I am not clear on the reason, I suppose that there is a backup handset right within reach, and I stumble on the missing one before I misplace the other one.
I am pretty absent minded, I have to call my cell phone almost every day to find it in my house, so this is really a great convenience for me.
